Mr. John Pinder was born in Nassau. His early education started at Sandilands Primary School , and L.W. Young Junior. He graduated from R.M. Bailey Senior High School in 1979.
Mr. Pinder was employed by Bahamas Government in 1981 where he took up the position of Audit Clerk in the Audit Department. He moved through the ranks to Accountant & Audit Officer and as Supervisor for the Revenue and Expenditure Section.
I Mr. Pinder became interested in the Labour Movement in 1982, when he joined the Union as a member and later elected Shop steward a position he held for 10 years. He also served as internal auditor for the Union from 1996 -1999. In 1999 he ran for the position of treasurer and was elected. However Mr. Pinder was not satisfied with the direction the Union was headed, so in September 2002 he ran for the position of President and was successful.
Mr. Pinder holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and a Masters Degree in Business Administration with the McHari Institute.
Mr. Pinder is married to Margo Pinder formerly Sweeting and the father of three beautiful children.
